Trio Vif is an exciting young chamber ensemble featuring Jesse Jardim (flute), Lydia Weber (clarinet), and Mienke Albertse (piano). In 2024, they won first prize in the SASMT/NSPEC Ensemble Competition, a milestone that reflects their musical sensitivity and collaborative strength. Under the mentorship of acclaimed pianist Megan-Geoffrey Prins, the trio explores a wide-ranging repertoire that showcases the unique colours of their instrumentation.
Their upcoming program includes the spirited Grand Fantasia by Malcolm Arnold, the elegant Four Waltzes by Shostakovich, and the fiery Tarentelle by Saint-Saëns. Audiences can also look forward to lyrical works by Emmanuel, Cavallini, and a dazzling Carmen Rhapsody based on Bizet’s iconic opera. Trio Vif brings youthful energy, expressive depth, and artistic promise to every performance. Looking ahead, we are preparing to compete in the Stellenbosch University National Ensemble Competition in 2025.
