The St Petersburg String Quartet – an internationally renowned, Grammy nominated chamber ensemble based in the USA, are touring South Africa for the first time and the Cape Town Concert Series will present two ‘extra’ concerts part of their initiative to take the finest chamber music concerts beyond the concert hall.
They will present three landmark string quartet pieces – Glazunov’s 3 Novelettes for String Quartet, Op.15, Shostakovich Quartet Nr 8, Op.110 and String Quartet in F major by Ravel.
