Lunch Hour Concert

You are cordially invited to a performance of renowned pianists Marija Bajalica and Marija Đjukić, who combined their talent, cultural and musical heritage into a seamless artistic partnership on the piano. Their complementary styles and approaches create a distinct synergy, delivering vibrant and captivating interpretations on stage.

The lunch hour programme will include Rachmaninov, Carl Vine, Samuel Barber and Gabriel Faure music. Among others, in Colours of Australia, Bajalica & Đjukić bring to life the powerful Sonata for Four Hands by contemporary composer Carl Vine. They invite the audience on a nostalgic journey with Gabriel Fauré's Dolly Suite, a collection of six musical stories that evoke the innocence of childhood. Samuel Barber’s Souvenirs then transport listeners to the lively streets of New York and the intimate bars of Manhattan, where Barber originally played these charming pieces for his enjoyment. To conclude, the duo offers a breathtaking performance of Rachmaninov’s Vocalise in a stunning four-hand arrangement by Greg Anderson.
