Kroon van Wonders

An extraordinary musical journey is reaching its glorious finale! Since 2018, Franco Prinsloo has crafted a large-scale Afrikaans oratorio trilogy about the life of Jesus Christ, which has moved audiences and earned critical acclaim.

It all began with the Easter oratorio Kruis van Liefde, which received incredible reviews. The Vox Chamber Choir was nominated for two SAMA awards, and the oratorio was broadcast on kykNET as well as nationwide on RSG.

Next came the Christmas oratorio Lig van Waarheid, performed to sold-out audiences at NG Universiteitsoord in Pretoria and the iconic Groote Kerk in Cape Town, featuring the Vox Chamber Choir and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

Now, the trilogy concludes with Kroon van Wonders, a profound exploration of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. This awe-inspiring work, featuring texts by Totius and the late Prof. Hans du Plessis, will premiere in May 2025. It’s an honour to welcome back Dr. Isabelle van Rensburg, whose masterful organ performances have been a highlight of the trilogy, for this climactic production.
