Continuing a cherished annual tradition, the Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town presents Handel’s timeless masterpiece, Messiah. This year, the choir is honoured to welcome the esteemed Richard Cøck to the podium. One of South Africa’s most respected and iconic musical figures, Richard brings exceptional insight, energy, and depth to this beloved oratorio. From the lyrical beauty of the solo arias to the triumphant power of the “Hallelujah” Chorus, Messiah remains a cornerstone of Cape Town’s cultural calendar.
This inspiring performance offers audiences a moving experience of reflection, celebration, and musical splendour not to be missed. Our soloists for Messiah 2026 are Brittany Smith (soprano), Minette du Toit- Pearce (alto), Jason Atherton (tenor) and Conroy Scott (bass), and the choir is joined by the Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra.
