A solo marimba programme curated by Magda de Vries, in which South African composers have created new works inspired by Afrikaans poems read by the renowned Este Gross. In this programme, poetry and the sound of the marimba meet in a surprising and refreshing way, where verse and music enter into an intimate dialogue. The works offer diverse, personal interpretations of the poems, while visual projections draw the audience deeper into a compelling, integrated experience of sound and word.
