Old Nectar Concerts welcomes the remarkable young pianist Christian-Peter Hiemstra to the Old Nectar gardens’ historic wine cellar in Jonkershoek. Now fifteen, he has already received international recognition as a laureate of several major competitions, including the International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Kronberg, the Neuchâtel International Piano Competition, the United Kingdom Rotary Young Musician Competition, and the South African National Youth Music Competition.
His programme moves from the elegance of Mozart to the expansive virtuosity of Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata, the poetic imagination of Schumann’s Fantasiestücke, the rhythmic brilliance of Bartók’s Suite for Piano, and concludes with Liszt’s profound Vallée d’Obermann from Années de pèlerinage.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early or linger afterward to enjoy the serene beauty of the Old Nectar gardens.
