Come warm your hearts in musical sunshine with the members of Ensemble Masana.
Mareli Stolp (piano), Rikus Coetsee (saxophone) and Handri Loots (flute) established Masana in 2023. All seasoned chamber musicians, the members of this trio have been performing regularly across South Africa and abroad and now embark on a combined musical journey as Masana, the Tsonga term for ‘sunshine’.
The combination of piano, flute and saxophone is quite unusual, and the members of Ensemble Masana have enjoyed the challenge of discovering works for this combination and to introduce them to South African audiences. Today they are pleased to present a varied programme of music by French, American, Hungarian and Italian composers, showcasing the wide range of possibilities for all three instruments in duo, solo and trio format.
